Behind Butcher Chef is a journey from Samarqand, through New York, to Northeast Philadelphia. And more than 25 years spent as a butcher and chef.
That experience is part of what we bring to the counter and the kitchen. But the reason for the work is always closer to home: something good to cook, a meal to share, the people around your table.

Where the journey began.
Samarqand is where our story starts. It is the beginning we carry with us: the first place in a journey that would take the butcher’s craft far from home.
New York
A craft carried forward.
New York became the next chapter. A different city, the same work of hands and care. Another part of a life in butchery and cooking, on the way to what would become Butcher Chef.
Northeast Philadelphia
A place to share it.
Today, this is where we welcome you. At our steakhouse on Welsh Road, and our Prime Halal Meat counters on Welsh Road and Red Lion Road. The journey continues, here in the neighbourhood.
